1. CHRON – time
anachronistic (adjective) – pertaining to something or someone that is not in its correct or historical time

Example: It would be anachronistic to say that Shakespeare’s writing came from the fifteenth century.
2. CRAT – rule
autocrat (noun): an absolute ruler; a person who behaves in an authoritarian manner

Example: The autocrat ruled his kingdom with no mercy.
3. CRED – believe
credence (noun): belief of the truth in something

Example: The evidence gave credence to the suspect’s alibi.
4. CYCL – circle/ring/wheel
cyclical (adjective): revolving or recurring in cycles

Example: Many people believe that the ups and downs of an economy are cyclical and predictable.
5. DEM – people
epidemic (noun): a temporary widespread disease; a rapid spread in the occurrence of something

Example: An epidemic of drop outs among teenage boys is spreading alarmingly fast.
6.DICT – say
malediction (noun): the utterance of a curse

Example: The frightening elderly lady at the end of the street is said to utter maledictions on any young child who enters her yard.
7.DOC – teach
indoctrinate (verb): to instruct; especially to instruct with a partisan or biased point of view

Catholic schools indoctrinate students with conservative principles.
8.DUC – lead
inductile (adjective): not easily led or influenced

Example: The inductile candidate decided to run his campaign according to his ideas and ideals.
9.FAC – make
facilitate (verb): to make easier; to help forward

Example: Studying and completing homework facilitates the earning of good grades.
10.FRACT/FRAG – break
fragmentary (adjective): broken; disconnected; incomplete
